How to Read a COA for 10-HDA
A Certificate of Analysis (COA) is a lab report from a third-party laboratory that verifies product composition. When checking a COA for royal jelly, here's what to look for:
1. 10-HDA content
Should be listed as a percentage. Look for 6% or higher for premium-grade freeze-dried powder.
2. Testing method
HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography) is the gold standard method for measuring 10-HDA content.
3. Laboratory name & accreditation
A legitimate COA names the testing laboratory and its accreditation (ISO 17025 or equivalent).
4. Batch/lot number & date
The COA should reference a specific batch so you can match it to the product you received.
5. Heavy metals & microbial results
A proper COA also tests for lead, mercury, cadmium, arsenic, and microbial contamination (E. coli, Salmonella, total plate count).

The Problem With Capsule Labels
